Botox + Dysport

BOTOX®️ and Dysport®️ are used to relax the muscles that cause frown lines, forehead lines, crow’s feet, and other overactive muscles.

Wondering what makes them different? Here’s the scoop:

  • Dysport diffuses to a wider area, making it beneficial when correcting issues such as forehead wrinkles or crow’s feet. BOTOX, on the other hand, is better in areas with thicker muscles, such as between your eyebrows, and smaller areas where more precision is needed.
  • Dysport typically has a quicker onset than BOTOX: with Dysport, you should see results in 2 – 5 days, while BOTOX takes about 4 – 7 days to see results. Both products fully set in at 2 weeks and last for 3 – 4 months.
  • They’re reconstituted differently, which changes the dosage level. For example, 20 units of BOTOX equates to about 50 units of Dysport—making the pricing actually pretty similar!

In most cases, choosing BOTOX or Dysport is a personal preference. Whichever one you choose is up to you! Most of our patients can’t tell a difference between the two products. But don’t worry—we’ll go over all of your options in a consultation. Book an appointment today for BOTOX at our convenient Little Rock location.

BOTOX + DYSPORT FAQS

Rachel injecting BOTOX at SKN Little Rock
Do Botox or Dysport injections hurt?2021-06-10T20:10:44-05:00

No! Patients report minimal pain from Botox and Dysport injections — if they feel any at all.

What age should I start Botox or Dysport injections?2021-06-10T20:50:15-05:00

There’s no one-size-fits-all answer to this (and all beauty questions!), but we typically recommend starting treatment when you begin to notice fine lines when your face is at rest. You know the ones we’re talking about–the ones you can see in the mirror when your face is still; those pesky ones your makeup settles into. The good news is that these lines are easily smoothed out with a visit to SKN! Everyone’s different, so we’ll tailor an individual plan based on your needs and concerns.

What’s a lip flip? Is it the same as lip filler?2021-06-10T20:59:14-05:00

A lip flip helps people achieve a fuller upper lip without the use of dermal fillers. (They only work on people whose lip curls under when smiling.) Here’s how it works: Botox injections are used to temporarily relax the muscles around your mouth. This stops the top lip from curling under when you smile. There is no downtime, but it might feel a little weird at first when you drink through a straw or whistle! Results take 2 weeks to set in and last for about 8 weeks.

Is Botox/Dysport preventative?2021-06-10T21:01:45-05:00

Yes! Botox/Dysport not only relax the lines and wrinkles that you have, but it also prevents them from getting deeper. The more you move your muscles, the deeper those lines get.
