PRF Injections

PRF, platelet-rich fibrin, is a treatment to improve fine lines, wrinkles, and volume loss. This injection is a tightly packed matrix of growth factors that promote collagen growth and regeneration. To get PRF, blood is drawn, spun down, and then the “liquid gold” is injected into the desired area.

PRP vs PRF

PRP and PRF are both platelet-based injections used to correct many difference concerns such as fine lines, skin texture, and even hair loss. The question arises: What is the difference, and which is better for me?

PRF is the second generation of platelet-based injections. It is most densely packed with growth factors than PRP, and is more autologous than PRP (meaning, from oneself, being completely natural). There are zero additives to the PRF. PRP has a couple additives to the mixture to help form the fibrin matrix and keep the blood from clotting. With that said, due to the autologous nature of PRF, there are some restrictions on who could get this treatment. Any patient on vitamin K, hormone therapy, high-fat diets, or who smoke are not suitable candidates for PRF and should continue with treatments using PRP.

While these injections each have their own pros and cons, both are fantastic treatments. Consult with our injectors to see which would be right for you.

  • Numbing cream is applied prior to the treatment. We also provide a comfort menu with different options to help make your treatment more comfortable.
  • For most of the treatment, the provider will use a cannula. Not only with this help with the discomfort, it also will help minimize the chances of bruising.
